NEW YORK - Seattle SuperSonics guard
Ray Allen and forward
Vladimir Radmanovic highlight a field of six in the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by America Online, February 19 at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Allen was the 2001 Shootout Champion, when All-Star Weekend was held in Washington. He finished third in 2000 and fifth in 2002. This will be Radmanovic's first Shootout appearance.
Dale Ellis is the only player to win the Shootout with the Sonics, doing so in 1989. Sonics forward
Rashard Lewis finished sixth in 2001 and fourth last year, while former Sonics guard
Brent Barry finished third in 2003.
Allen ranks sixth in NBA history with 1,389 three-pointers, and his 39.9% career percentage from three-point range ranks him in the NBA's top 25 of all time. Allen is fourth in threes made this season (112) and is shooting 37.6% from downtown. Radmanovic is making 40.9% of his threes, which ranks him 15th in the NBA. His 101 threes made are ninth-best in the league.
Allen and Radmanovic will have to compete against defending champion Voshon Lenard (Denver), Philadelphia’s Kyle Korver, Phoenix’s Joe Johnson and Quentin Richardson.
The contestants in the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout will be competing for $57,500 in prize money, with $25,000 going to the winner. Second place is worth $15,000, third place is worth $10,000 and fourth through sixth place is worth $2,500 each.
